After experiencing discomfort in his left adductor during Greece’s blowout loss against Team USA, Thanasis Antetokounmpo faced uncertainty about the seriousness of his injury.

An MRI was swiftly arranged to assess the extent of the issue, leaving fans and teammates anxious about his availability for the upcoming FIBA World Cup games.

Harris Stavrou shared the concerning news via Twitter, stating, “It’s 1:06 am here in Manila, and Thanasis Antetokounmpo is undergoing an MRI after he felt discomfort in his left adductor in Greece’s game against the USA.”

However, the determination and passion that define Thanasis as a player have come to the forefront. Despite the injury concerns, reports suggest that the spirited forward is resolute about joining his team on the court for Greece’s final group phase game against New Zealand.

Christos Tsaltas confirmed this, tweeting, “Thanasis Antetokounmpo wants to play vs. New Zealand really badly! He will do whatever it takes to get ready for Wednesday’s game. He left the court vs. Team USA with an injury in his left foot.”
