Stephen Curry is making ‘good progress’ with shoulder injury and will be re-evaluated in two weeks according to Golden State Warriors, as sharpshooter has missed last four games

Stephen Curry is set to miss a further two weeks of action with a left shoulder injury, though the Warriors say he’s making ‘good progress’ recovering from the problem.

The two-time MVP suffered a partially dislocated shoulder on December 14 vs. the Pacers, with The Athletic reporting at the time that he would be re-evaluated in two weeks.

With the Warriors’ updated timeline, Curry looks set to miss the next seven games as the team continues to freefall.

The Warriors enter their Christmas matchup vs. Memphis off the back of a 1-5 road trip, with blowout losses vs. the Knicks and Nets marking the end of the miserable six-game stretch.

Golden State – roughly six months after winning an NBA championship – are just 15-18 on the season and perhaps more worryingly are 1-6 on the season with Curry out of the lineup.

While the Warriors will have to find ways to win without Curry in the short-term, Saturday’s update can perhaps be considered a positive after the star said he was ‘nowhere near picking up a basketball‘ on Tuesday.

Golden State will hope he can return early into the new year.

Curry has been able to do some work in the weight room and did some shooting practice on Friday and Saturday morning, Warriors coach Steve Kerr told the Mercury News

‘Everything seems to be going pretty smoothly,’ Kerr said of Curry’s recovery process.

For now, the Warriors’ continue to be depleted by injuries, as Andrew Wiggins – who’s missed the last nine contests with a strained thigh muscle – will remain out on Christmas vs. the Grizzlies.

JaMychal Green will also miss the contest due to a non-COVID illness.

While the Warriors have been without some of their best players, Draymond Green has also attributed their struggles to the team’s current mindset.

‘Right now, I think we are very fragile,’ he said Friday after practice.

‘You start going through these things and then you start believing them. Once you start believing them, it becomes who you are. The only way to break them is by being mentally tough.’
