Former teammate Spencer Dinwiddie recently shared his admiration for Luka Doncic, hailing the Slovenian sensation as one of the most extraordinary players in the history of the game.
Speaking to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, Dinwiddie offered his perspective on Doncic’s versatility and potential.
“Luka Doncic is one of the most special players on the planet and one of the most special players in history,” he remarked.
Dinwiddie believes that Doncic has the capability to mold his career path according to his desires, whether it’s chasing scoring titles, assist titles, or championship rings.
The Nets point guard elaborated on Doncic’s skill set, emphasizing his multifaceted offensive abilities. He pointed out that Doncic possesses the tools to break down defenses as a three-level scorer, combining a post-up game with surprising physicality and quickness.
“He’s going to be able to have whatever type of career he wants,” he said. “If he wants to take the scoring title – well, maybe not because it’ll take too long, and I don’t think he’s going to play 20 years, nor wants to do that. He can win scoring titles and assist titles. He can go ring chase. He can choose to do whatever he wants.”
Dinwiddie also acknowledged the effectiveness of Doncic’s stepback three-pointer, making him an incredibly challenging player to guard.
At only 24 years old, Luka Doncic has already achieved remarkable success in the NBA. The Dallas Mavericks star has notched four NBA All-Star selections and four All-NBA First Team honors.
In the previous season, he ranked as the league’s second-highest scorer, averaging 32.4 points per game. Alongside his scoring prowess, Doncic contributed significantly with 8.6 rebounds and 8 assists in 36.2 minutes of play.
