Eight different countries have won the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup since its inception in 1979, with the reigning champions USA leading the field with eight titles, including four of the last five editions. The Americans defeated France 83-81 in a very exciting 2021 Final in Riga, Latvia.

The draw was performed by FIBA Hall of Famer Dino Radja and former Hungarian national team player Robert Gulyas.

The 2023 edition of the tournament will take place from June 24-July 2 in Debrecen, Hungary.
