Former Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving recently provided insight into his departure from the team, shedding light on what he referred to as “disrespectful things” occurring behind the scenes during his tenure.
Irving’s stint with the Nets was marked by controversies, eventually leading to his trade request being granted, sending him to the Dallas Mavericks in February 2023. In a candid statement, the star guard addressed his experiences in Brooklyn.
“I said there was some disrespectful things going on behind the scenes,” Irving said, as reported by Brian Lewis of the New York Post.
“That happens in every organization, so it’s not out of the ordinary to (say) that, but when it’s me, it’s a Firestarter. Everyone loves to use my name to build up whatever credibility they need,” he added.
