Is LeBron James playing tonight against the Phoenix Suns? | December 19th, 2022

LeBron James and the LA Lakers are hoping to build off their recent momentum. The Lakers have won two consecutive games and three of their last four will take on the Phoenix Suns on Monday night in the second game of a back-to-back.

The Lakers (14-16) took care of business on Sunday with a 119-117 win over the Washington Wizards. However, the big news was the injury announcement of fellow superstar Anthony Davis, who has been sensational lately, averaging 27.4 points and 12.1 rebounds per game this season. The forward is expected to miss at least a month after suffering a right foot injury.

That means the Lakers will have to lean on their other superstar in forward LeBron James.

LA Lakers superstar forward LeBron James has been listed as out for Monday night’s game against the Phoenix Suns.

With Anthony Davis sidelined, the Lakers will now be shorthanded against the Suns (18-12) on Monday. The team is listing LeBron as out with left ankle soreness. After a hard-fought win on Sunday against the Wizards, it’s clear that the Lakers are being cautious with their 37-year-old superstar.

James was sensational against the Wizards on Sunday. He finished with 33 points, seven rebounds and nine assists while shooting 13 of 24.

After Monday night’s game against the Suns, the Lakers will head to Sacramento to take on the Kings (16-12) on Wednesday.

With Anthony Davis expected to be out for at least a month, it’s reaching a critical time of the season for the Lakers. Since starting the season 2-10, the Lakers have started to show signs of life.

Time will tell if James can keep the team afloat until Davis returns to the lineup. The Lakers are in 12th place in the Western Conference standings.

In his last five games, James is averaging 30.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game while shooting 54.8%.

The Lakers will obviously be without their two biggest contributors and will also lose size as well.
